With the news of DIrect AIr starting service to Worchester today, I was on their site and noticed it says "all flight operated by Virgin America". This is new and no one posted it yet that I can find. Any idea what happeded to B6 operating their flights....I might need to try them to try the Virgin America product

Quoting A340Crew (Thread starter):

if it operated by Virgin America for Direct Air, you probably wont get the product. It is possible that the AVOD and PTV will be turned off or else Direct Air has to pay for it. Catering likely wont be VX either. So no goodies on demand via the PTV.

That is a change on the website. I remember seeing it saying JetBlue last night.

In fact, the charter participant agreement still says

Quote:
Beach Direct flights are Public Charters operated by JetBlue Airways. Flights are operated on Airbus A320 jet aircraft with a maximum capacity of 150 coach seats.

So it looks like a change is afoot. Good catch.

This page: http://www.visitdirectair.com/flights/our_aircraft/
claims VA at the top and then JetBlue in the text. They do say TV/XM available.

When B6 operated the flights last year they had the TV's on and the Jetblue snacks...including the blue chips....

With Virgin America will they outfit an aircraft in all coach, or will they offer the first class seats. On the website you can't purchase a first class ticket unless they are going to offer upgrades for sale at the airport for a nominal fee.....

Also will they be using the A319 or A320.....

Funny how the flights are currently operated by USAJet using the Greatest Airliner Ever Made...

The Worcester telegram article should help enlighten you.

http://telegram.com/article/20080905/NEWS/809050634/1116

They mention that it does have the AVOD turned on.

Quote:
The Worcester flights are to be operated by Virgin America Airlines, which will provide the aircraft and flight crews.

The flights will use Airbus A320 aircraft configured with eight first class seats and 141 coach seats that feature all leather seating, plasma televisions, touch service screens, satellite radio and telephone and computer connectivity at each seat.

It's spelled Worcester. There is no Worchester, MA.
