Is there a website where you can look up flight information like type of aircraft or if there is a meal or movie etc. on a flight?

I have an itinerary that says I will be flying a 727-200 Advanced with a dinner and United's website said this until the other day. I wanted to see if there were any open seats on the flight, so I went on their site and acted like I was booking a flight, but when I found my flight it was changed to a 737-500 with a snack. It was the same flight number on the same date and time as my flight. Last week their site said the same as my itinerary. So I don't know if that is the plane I am on or not. I didn't think airlines changed aircraft types and change a dinner to a snack less than a month before the flight. But I guess that is a possibility. Also, a 737 has less rows than a 727. So it would seem seat assignments would have to be changed. It just doesn't sound right to me.

So now I am confused and was wondering if there is a website I can confirm my aircraft type and other information about it. Any help is appreciated!  Smile

Try http://www.travelocity.com/ or http://www.expedia.com. Those two sites will at least tell you the expected a/c. I'm not sure about meals.

Remember, if you book far in advance, an airline might change equipment on a route in the mean time. Otherwise there's always the possibility of a mechanical issue that causes an equipment change.

Is there any way without going through a reservation system? Anywhere you can just give flight number date and cities and it gives you the information? If a flight is booked, then it won't show up under the above sites.

I have the downloadable United timetable on my laptop, and it is pretty accurate and helpful when it comes to schedules and aircraft type. You can get it at www.united.com

If you tell me your flight number and date, I can look it up for you.

The schedule says that #1508 is a 737-500. However, if you wanted to take #1492 at 7:10pm, it is a 727.

Wanna know something weird? I took flight #1492 DEN-CMH in December, and it was a 737-300! I guess it just goes to show they are switching equipment constantly. Have fun in Columbus! I know I didn't.  Smile

UA constantly changes planes at MHT. One day it is a 727, then a 737, then a 757.
