Today's Greek newspaper "Eleutherotypia" reports that the Greek Government is close to a deal with EU about the future of Olympic Airlines.

The initial requirement was that 40% of today's services would be retained but it is now believed that following negotiations the percentage will be raised to approximately 65%.

African and N.American destinations to remain. A number of internal flights will be cut, based on their importance (newspaper questions how exactly this will be assessed).

Qatar Airways appears to be interested to purchase the new company but nothing has been confirmed yet.
