THAT got your attention! Sir Richard flew the European RYDER CUP golf team, plus fans to Louisville yesterday (9/15) in a super-stretch Airbus A340-600. I caught it on flightaware after I got home from work. Pix and vid will be taken today. This marks the first time we have had an A340 on the ground in Louisville. I can't wait to see it!!

I wonder if like in the past when the Europeans have flown back from the States, Concorde would do a fly past over the course if SRB who is never one to miss a publicity stunt will do the same with his Airbus?

n a super-stretch Airbus A340-600

Wow, that must be one long plane, the A340-600 is already long, so a super-stretch A340-600 must be quite a sight...

My girlfriend works for VS as Senior Cabin Crew and was chosen to be on that flight.

It was VS9918, operated by G-VWIN, and shortly after landing at KSDF it positioned to KIAD as VS918P. SRB was not on board.

Another A340-600, operating as VS919P, will fly into KSDF from KIAD on 22 Sept, scheduled to arrive at 07.00. It will depart again at 09.00 as VS9919, bound for London Heathrow with the Europen Ryder Cup team on board.

Hobnobbing at major golf and other sport events IS working. There's a reason that companies sponsor such events (other than the perks) and it's because there is value in it both in publicity and in contacts.

Thanks VIRTUAL, for the information. I shall be several hours late for work on Monday morning!
LEXY, the terminal will not be the place to be when it returns. There is a new bridge that links Grade Lane with UPS's new Operations center, across I-65 from the airport. It overlooks runway 35R/17L, which VIRGIN will be using for landing. However, at 7:00AM, the sky is JUST getting light in the east. I highly doubt that the aircraft will park at the terminal. Odds are, it will go to the general air cargo ramp. There is good access for observing/photography.
It's where the SAUDI Royal Flight L-1011 parked several years ago. That may be the best place to be. Miss the landing, but capture it taxiing in to park. I want to hear those engines!!

It's parking on the cargo ramp by the terminal. As per the airport authority.

Wher is the general air cargo ramp?

Didn't VS used to have a 346 with something like 'bigger then yours' on the rear fuselage?

Nothing's worse then flying the same registration twice, except flying it 4 times..

Alot of VS aircraft used to have slogans on them, the orgional slogan used when the first 346 was introduced was "Mine's Bigger Than Yours!". VS though have slowly removed most of these.

SO is anyone going to show up out there besides me? LOL!!! If we are able to get good pics, and the airport has said that we will be able to, then we need to Kentucky ANet presence out there. It's not everyday you see one of these parked at SDF you know. Plus, you'll have all the daily UPS goodies flying around.....

There was "NO WAY BA/AA" in the 90's and then "BA CAN'T KEEP IT (CONCORDE) UP".
