Dear Enthusiasts,
How are you. I've been searching a little through the DB, because today it was announced in the news that Hungarian President, will be visiting my country, Ecuador on friday for Political Reasons. Now, as a spotter I wanted to know if you guys can help me, and let me know. Which airplane would the president be traveling in. Would this plane come and stay? And if anyone has ANY IDEA, at what time would it leave? It would be great to know. thanks guys!

Its weird, I would of thought that Hungary did have a private jet.... or airliners. Would of loved to spot a unique one. Lets wait and see, maybe polish spotters know more. Also the people I have asked right now suggest MALEV doesnt have the 767's any more.... Any way, I guess we might know more later. But anyone please let me know.

Don't expect much....
If anything, you'll see a small private jet that the Hungarian government leases from time to time. The Hungarian govt may also charter a MA 738 as they have done in the past.
Hungarian Heads of State have travelled on MA's commercial flights but AFAIK that practice stopped for the most part.
Both of MA's 767s are operating as scheduled to YYZ and JFK this Friday.
I do recall a bunch of very upset MA pax about 10 years ago who's BUD-JFK flight made an unannounced landing at Andrew's Air Force Base to accommodate the then Hungarian PM's welcoming ceremony to the US.

MA still has its 2 B767s, one is leaving in October, the other in November.

It would surprise me if the Hungarian president would fly in his "private" Malev 767 to Quito. My bet would be Budapest Madrid and then connect on Iberia to Quito. I think most heads of state of smaller countries (unless we are talking about Zimbabwe) travel on commercial flights. I had a few onboard some flights that I worked on.
