Okay, so this article sounds weird to begin with. But it did say that Arkia has a special contract with the United Nations (I was surprised that they would give such a contract to an Israeli airline because it makes it even more of a target). What other airlines have contracts with the UN? Wish I could have seen Arkia in Haiti. That would have been weird...

Isn't Arkia that airline with missile protection on some birds? I mean that device that looses high temperature fireballs from the tail to make missiles confuse...
This might be a reason why the Israeli PM often uses them and why the UN charters them.
