Have any of you flown Midwest Express airlines? I know a few people that did and they said that the service and comfort was amazing! I would have flown them when I went to MKE, but it was in the summer and Midwest Express only has seasonal winter service to my home, TPA. So we flew US Airways instead by way of Pittsburgh. In First Class, the seat pitch was just a little more than Midwest Express, and the width was the same (we were on an MD-80). But, all we got was a cold muffin. Midwest Express on a flight of a similar length, would offer a full service breakfast.
US Airways operates out of the same terminal as Midwest Express in MKE, so we walked over to the Midwest Express gate areas. They had coffee and a tray of pastries at each gate!
Please share your experience if you have flown with them.

Midwest Express ROCKS... flew them EWR-MKE-MCI and back last year and felt like a king. Two (!) great meals each way, the famous cookies, and great big seats!

Flew them RDU-MKE-RDU and the service was great. Nice seats, meals, newspapers. Was a great deal and non-stop.

Sorry to raise a question here, but how is Midwest Express in terms of economics. How do their fares compare to a first class fare on a major carrier? Also, how are their aircraft. To my knowledge they only operate DC-9-10 and 30s.

Midwest Express feeder has got its first Do328JET recently. I think they have 5 on firm order and 10 options. I hope they will but some 320s. They will look great in this scheme.

I flew them 4 years ago LGA>-MKE and MKE->CLV. The meal, seats and services were all great. On all trips, the checked luggages were already on the conveyor belt when we got to the luggage area -- no waiting at all.

I was rather shocked to see that Midwest Express did not earn the award for best domestic airline in the 99 World's Best Awards. It is my opinion that they are miles ahead of any other domestic airline. My experiences with them have been great. Excellent meals, excellent service (both on and off the ground), comfortable seats, quick baggage delivery etc...
