On the military side of things, Boeing continue to put resources into developing large, laminar flow, BWB aircraft/UAV's. It is tough to predict, but if they ever do win this contract, and continue with the X-47B stuff, this certainly looks to prelude greater (intellectual/experience) resources for a flying wing 747 replacement in 10-20 years.

The natural efficiencies of a BWB are too great to ignore forever. I think Boeing will have a freight/cargo BWB within the next decade.
