So had a couple family members coming in today and, definitely not a great first impression of Frontier. LOL
Flying into OKC, their morning flight in was canceled this morning - Q400. Aircraft was taken to service the Sacramento flight which had a mechanical. Rebooked on the next flight...5 hours later. So 7 hours plus at DEN, they go to get on board. Their next flight a Q400 had an issue, swapped with a A319. Flight got out 20 minutes late, no problem...on the way. Then the landing in OKC.
On landing front landing gear brake locked up, flipped the wheel sideways and there is now another big black line down 17R at OKC. Flight crew did a great job getting the plane stopped as fast as possible, and did a good job keeping people calm on boarded after some pretty violent shaking. Now just the funny part...
So an hour has passed, and still on the runway. They are trying to get a mechanic out to come take a look - but apparently he didn't have a way to the airplane. Sigh. So finally he shows up. Plane's broke...they make the call to unload everything there and bus people to the terminal. This is about 1hr 30min to 2hrs after landing. Set of air stairs arrive, but a problem. They are too tall and can't figure out how to lower them down. So finally after 10-15 minutes, they got it. Baggage at this point is already unloaded and back to the terminal. As other people waiting were saying...its funny, we complain about our bags not arriving with us...but now they have that fixed, but forgot to bring the people.
So shuttle bus arrives...but it can only carry 20 people. LOL So the WRWA Fire Department does their thing and help get people off the aircraft. Finally 3 more shuttle buses are brought in from the parking lot operations and things start picking up.
My guests were lucky, they were up towards the front so they didn't have to wait too long. Either way, could have been a lot worse...flight crew did a great job. Ground crew could have done a better job keeping people informed that were waiting. The first and only announcement came 1 hour after landing. All in all not a terrible day...but not a great first impression, and I recommended them. :-X
