Pacific Blue announced today that they will start flying to Direct to Denpansar Bali from
Adelaide 2 flights a week , Perth 4 flights a week , Brisbane 5 Flights a Week

http://www.virginblue.com.au/AboutUs.../NewsandPressReleases/P_005588.htm

After Garuda pulled out and Air Paradise went bust there have been no direct flights from Queensland to Bali for the last couple of years and this route will definately go off.

Australians love Bali

Australian's may not love Bali soon if the new modesty laws are introduced (no bakini's) in Indonesia. This may not be the best time to be launching services afterall.

We will have to wait and see. Great to see that ADL got some services, as I definately think they deserve better air services.

When I heard about DJ adding Bali several weeks ago, I was under the impression that New Zealand was going to get some Bali routes also.

Looking forward to their next new route that should be announced soon. Hopefully WLG gets a share of the next new route

The previous operators on the route only operated wide body aircraft. DJ operate B738s. Wonder if the E190s DJ have could make the flight?

Yea 1 stop. I was given the impression it was going to be direct

Lets just hope DJ can find enough crew to operate their aircraft, as I know they are getting another one in Jan 09.

I thought those modesty laws got thrown out a while ago. I haven't heard anything about them recently.

Front and back page ads in MX in Melbourne for this today. ADL-DPS will be the shortest route for people here or up in Sydney.

Never thought the day would come that you'd have to transfer through Adelaide, eh?

yeah, but just had a quick look at their site, the only way you can use the ADL service is coming back, havent been able to get an outbound flight via ADL. It's all BNE and PER and the travel times are between 9 and 12 hours!

Pity though, cos ADL's airport is probably the best for connections out of the three (based purely on the fact that everything's under one roof and it's the shortest path for people in the SE corner of the country).
