Seems like Air France is doing well on the CDG-BOM route putting his prestigious 777-300ER To India.

With AI out of BOM-CDG, I'm sure this was the next step.

Correct !!

DEL and BLR could probably get upgraded too.

The only mystery is MAA 3 weekly flights only....

Even Hyderabad is better served by KL on a 5 weekly basis.

Cheers

AF has served BOM with a 77W before, in fact I flew CDG-BOM in December 2006 on a 777W. AF puts the 77W on the route when the need the extra lift, BOM is a rather seasonal market.

India seems to be doing well for AF-KL. Next year, KLM will upgrade AMS HYD from the current MD11 to a B772ER. Also, AF-KL are looking at one more destination in India. On the other hand, CDG MAA does not seem to be performing as well as expected.

They already have most of the major metros covered with services to BOM, DEL, MAA, BLR, HYD. Which city could they be looking to add?

Maybe CCU, AMD, ATQ or COK.

I thought DEL sees the B744 in the winter season, isn't that more or less the same capacity as the 77W, the only difference is that the AF 747's are old and the cabins aren't that great. I was in F-GISA and it was quite awful, but after talking to the crew, understood that it was going to be converted to a freighter.

77W, however, has ptv in Y class so i guess you could call it an upgrade!!

I am assuming BLR sees the A332, so is the route doing so well that it requires a 77W???

How about CCU

CCU isn't such a high yielding market, correct me if i am wrong!!

Also BA and LH don't have daily flights from CCU, but then again i am not sure. Well maybe they can move the not so good MAA flight to CCU 3x weekly and see how it performs before they put a dedicated service there.

Like BCA2005, I too, think ATQ would do quite well for them, AMD won't be too shabby either, but are these airports ready to handle heavies??? ATQ probably can, how many heavies does AMD see?

SQ -- 2 or 3 weekly B772
AI -- has done many B744/743/772/763/77W runs between BOM and AMD
EK -- 8 weekly flights a mix of A332/B772

IMO AF-KL should think of starting CDG/AMS - COK ( i.e if there is sufficient traffic)

Summer's BLR gets 332 and last two winters it got upgraded to B772 not 77W. But this winter AF seems to be keeping this route to A332.
