Aerogal will resume service to Miami on 3 December 2009. This time around, the flight will originate in Quito. Flights now bookable:
2K 900 UIO 1145-1230 GYE 1315-1730 MIA 757 Daily
2K 901 MIA 1900-2315 GYE 2345-0030 UIO 757 Daily
Aerogal originally launched Miami service last fall, but the service was quickly halted because Aerogal was unable to secure a leased 737-400 as planned, and had to operate their own 737-200 on the route, which was clearly not working out financially.

Is that their 757 or is it leased? This poor airline can't seem to cut a break! Hopefully second time will be better

Great to hear that Aerogal's plans seem to be taking shape once again.
I am a bit concerned about that late arrival back into UIO. I guess that Aerogal are betting on the GYE market more than UIO.
I am curious to see where the 757 is coming from. The rumours I have heard are that it will be a wingleted 757 currently in OceanAir colours.
Aerogal are also supposed to be looking for another 757 that would serve to operate NYC.
Aerogal will also receive 3 737-300s that had a short spell with OceanAir, after it took from BRA.

Same here, I wonder where that 757 will be coming from. It would also be nice if they took the opportunity to introduce a new livery with the start of the MIA 757 route.

I didn't know Ocean Air operated the 733. When was this? I only remember the F100 being used and later the 767 and that single 757 with winglets. Isn't this single 757 going to AV? I remember reading something like that or it was just a rumor.
Anyway, this is great news for Aerogal and I hope they will succeed this time. They used to operate charter flights to CUR in 2005 but since than TAME took over that route. I would love to see Aerogal here again one day.
From Aerogal's CEO, It is not a purchase its an agreement.
"un acuerdo de cooperación comercial y operacional entre Synergy Group y AEROGAL"
Basically an agreement for commercial cooperation, and operational cooperation with Aerogal and Synergy Group. Thats it.
Thats all the information I have for now. What you have said is basically is true. 3 737-300 from Ocean and a 757, which I understand is from Ocean. Thats it for now

Welll, it should definately have a large Iguana on the fuselage and tail and a moredetailed picture too in stead of the current small plain colored ones. Larger Aerogal titles would be a good idea too in my opinion.

This is definitely the official line. It is still an important development. I expect that we will soon see codeshares between AV and 2K in many routes. I especially want to see AV codes on Aerogal service to MDE, that will give it a much better chance of survival, now that mighty LAN in on that route with more frequencies and a more efficient plane (A319 vs B732).
Airportmanager, good luck with getting any more info out of Gaby. I doubt that she will yield anything other than the official line. I suspect that there is more: Are the new routes (MIA, JFK, may MAD later) a joint venture? Are the 733 ans 757 leases going to be subsidised? If there has not been a sell of part of the company, is there an option for it?
In any case, I wish them luck.
Quoting PlunaCRJ (Reply 9): That´s interesting. It practically means the route will be operated by VIP / Synergy and codeshared with Aerogal, right?
It looks as if the route will be operated by Aerogal itself.

The 733s came from BRA, which OceanAir took from them when BRA folded. Sadly they were grounded shorly afterwards.
The wingleted 757 is probably the one going to Aerogal. Of the 3 767s. one is on its way to Dniproavia of Ukraine, another one will be returned to the lessor, and a third (PR-ONB) is a mystery. It could go to AV or it might be retained by OceanAir for charter flights.
