I was at a beer memorabilia show this morning and I found a "beer can" from United Airlines called Brew 747. I had not seen one of these before and never contained beer. It did contain a coupon book (expiring 12-31-73). The booklet of coupons says it is for six pack travelers. The coupons are all for places in Hawaii. What was the six pack traveler promotion? Did UA have other promotional items for the six pack traveler.

I like the slogan which is a spin on the Hamm's Beer slogan "Over land & sky blue waters" instead of Hamm's "From the land of sky blue waters".

My guess is that the traveler needed that after they went into poverty paying high ticket prices.  Silly

I'll take a stab and guess that the "six pack" refers to some sort of promotion where you might get a free Hawaii ticket after flying there five or six times. Just a guess...

That is a good guess. I was thinking maybe it was a a promotion that focused on "Joe six pack" I have heard politicians use that term to describe average Americans.

I would think there is some UA buff on here that knows, but maybe it was too short lived and too long ago for anyone here.

This was like when I found the Tri-Star NA beer can, nobody really knew about that either.

It must have been cool drinking that in the upper deck of a United 747-100 en route to Honolulu.

Thanks again for that Tri-Star L1011 beer can. I have it sitting on my fireplace mantle.
