Can anyone comment on the comfort of LH's relatively new economy seats, the ones they put in the A340 when they went to the dark grey cabin with the yellow headrests? The older ones they had were absolutely dreadful and I hope the replacements might allow you to endure a 12-hr flight without being tortured.

I've recently been in both their 742 and 319. And the 319 was definetly more comfortable. The 742 was terrible. I couldn't sit straight. But I'm not sure how the 319's seat compare to the 340. I'm probably flying on their 340 DEN-FRA in a couple of month. I'll let you know!
Anybody knows if they're changing the seats on the 742?

The seats on the LH 340 are very nice. I just flew LAX-FRA and I love the 340-313. It is much more comfortable than the a320's seats LH flys. However 12 hours sitting next to someone in coach is BRUTAL! and I did loose my mind towards the end of the flight. Pray for an empty row!

Yup, the old ones are torture. Got one a week ago LHR-FRA on an A310. One slumps into the seat. You can't do anything about it. Fortunately it was only for an hour.
Anyway, the new ones are great. Had the pleasure on a 747-400.
