What are everyones thoughts on the life/use of the 737-200 in the US. How much longer do you think we will see them in service?

They will be in service with Air Canada for at least 5 more years, minimum. AC still hasn't decided on the replacement...being either the 717 or A318.

I hope they are used until 2010. They were in production until 1988 anyway. They aren't as old as many people think. I love the 732.

I am pretty sure that Delta probably the last major airlines to retire 732 which would be at least 5-10 years later. I would be thrilled if Delta would do like what NWA do to their DC-9 fleet then we can see our favorite 732 remain for other long years. And I am pretty sure 732 will keep flying for other 20+ years with lesser airlines in 2nd world countries like in latin america. My dream is to find any remain 737-247 and grab a ride before they are axed into pieces.

I think the 737-200 will start being phased out from 2006 on unless the plane has been hush-kitted to ICAO Stage III standards. The hush-kitted later-production 732's will probably hang around until 2012 at latest.
