Whoops, yeah I forgot about HA. I'm such an afternoon person that I never see it come in or out anymore...
Quoting MCIGuy (Reply 2): Thanks! Do you know if NW ever operates a 753 into PHX?
Sometimes they'll upgrade, I seem to recall that they send a few in the winter but that just might be equipment swaps. CO used to send 753s here, but it's kinda the same deal as NW.
You get lucky with football charters every once in a while too. Last November NW brought in an A333 for the Cleveland Browns.

Well, I just found out that I'll be travelling MCI>PHX fairly often at least for a while. I got 752, A320 and A320, 752 this time, could be worse.
Correction: I guess that's "752, A321 then A321, 752. I thought it was a mistake that Travelocity showed the UA flight as "A321" but I guess Ted operates the type?

No, it was a mistake on Travelocity's part. UA nor Ted operate the A321, you will be flying an A320. Unless one of your legs is operated by US, who do fly the A321.

US doesn't send A321s there. Right now they only do SAN, MSP, CLT and PHL from Phoenix.

Well that's what I though, thanks. This is all UA/Ted so an A320 it is.

Thanks for that info, I haven't been keeping track of the west-coast A321 destinations lately. I'm actually surprised to see MSP on there! When did that start?

Back in the past (3 or 4 years now), you'd find a flight here or there by NW that was either a DC-10 or even a good ol' classic 747-200. These would come in a few times a year (not a charter) and be parked on the end gate in Terminal 3. I specifically remember a tired looking 747-200 back 3 years ago out there in the February timeframe.
Around the Super Bowl (every 6-7 years now it looks like in PHX) and Fiesta Bowl/National Championship, you will sometimes get upgauged aircraft by Delta, NW, and the like. Alot depends on who is playing in the games. Someone from the SEC playing in the Fiesta Bowl likely means a larger plane coming from DL.

Back in 2000 and early 2001 I just about commuted once a month from PHX via MSP to a clien's sites in Wisconsin. My flight home was typically the last one of the evening from MSP to PHX. I was nearly always in FC, it was a DC-10 and sometimes I was the only passenger in that cabin. No food, of course, just the free alcoholic drink if I wanted it -- which I didn't because I needed to drive 28 miles to home. But, that aircraft stayed overnight and was the first of the morning back to MSP.

Delta and Hawaiian are the most common "Heavy" visitors to PHX with B763s. Boy do I miss the Northwest DC-10s!

PHX is a haven for 737/32X and CRJ fans, with the occasional 757 and MD thrown in for fun, I think NW chucks a E175 our way once a day but that is about it. Widebodies are few and far between, ah the days of NW DC10s, you may have wondered if the overhead bins were going to stay in place when thundering down the runway but a majestic sight from the outside.

NW brought the 744s to PHX when they got the birds. We used to bring the A300 from DEN and IAH.
CO uses the 752/753 seasonaly (Spring Break), though not widebody, it is the biggest plane we bring to town.
FedEx brings the DC-10 and occasional MD-11 to town. Also can't forget HP's 747 service to HNL/NGO.

TWA had the L1011 (usually a LAS->PHX->JFK flight, but it also was a TUS->PHX->JFK too. And also L1011's in the winter to STL.
Also had the 767 every now and then. I remember non-revving in early 90's from PHX->LAX on the 767. (It came from JFK, stopped in PHX then continued on.) Didn't last long. Around this same time they didn't have the red-eye to STL, so I had to take that to LAX and then the red-eye to STL out of there.
TWA also had the occasional 747 for the Fiesta Bowl, which I believe was charter work.

NW used to bring many D10s into PHX. It was great for those who traveled frequently to PHX during the Winter months with allt he Snowbirds who live in the Southwest during the cold Winter months.
AA & UA brought D10s & 767s. I believe AA will sub a 763 now and then. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
DL has been the most consistant with their 767s. There were a lot more flights with the 76s when they were still flying the 762s. I miss those short 767s.

I believe that BA still operates 747 and 777 from PHX to LHR. Not sure about domestic flights, outside of cargo - I know DHL operates 767F on a almost daily basis at Sky Harbor.

It's been off and on for a while but IIRC the current flight started at the beginning of the summer.

UA does not have any 321's.
The widebody aircraft I know of that flies into PHX domestically is HA. And sometimes, very rarely, is DL and their 762's.
