I would like to know the list of all commercial airlines that served Kabul, Afghanistan before the trouble started. I know that Pakistan International Airlines, Ariana Afghanistan, and Bakhtar Airlines served.

Someone told me that BA had served there but pulled out way before Taliban due to low yields. I had also heard Lufthansa as well as AC served there in the 80s but pulled out due to the samething and went for Pakistan instead.

PIA resumed operation to Kabul in '93 for a brief period, the service was operated by a 737-300 from Peshawar but was discontinued due to the continued threat of bombs landing at Kabul airport, Indian Airlines used to fly there also, Aeroflot did during the Soviet occupation years VirginA340 British Airways and Lufthansa may have too pre-occupation years but im not sure about it, Air Canada never have served Afghanistan nor Pakistan so far but i did read in a magazine that the then Canadian Pacific did fly to Karachi in the 1940's
