Yes we are. Both the Seahawks and Raiders use us for their away games.

How are they flying out of SEA and not BFI?? Where are they boarding these flights at SEA? NW hangar or AS hangar?

I don't know if I'm supposed to say exactly where since these are private charter flights, but I can eliminate both of the choices you mentioned. But yes, the flights do depart from SEA with the team onboard.

Then it has to be the air cargo area... preferrably the FedEx ramp. There is no way that the Seahawks would be boarding at the South Satellite.

They usually leave 2 days prior on the cross country trips so I would look for their arrival at EWR sometime on Friday.

My guess would be the ASIG FBO on the southwest corner of KSEA next to the 34L end of the third runway.

Is that the norm? Can HA afford to have an a/c out of service for 3 days or so? I realize an east coast trip is handled differently than a trip in the west; I wonder if both OAK and SEA had a game on the east coast on the same weekend, do you suppose HA would let 2 planes sit there the whole time?

Obviously HA would not want to have to ferry Pualani from EWR back to the west coast for a revenue trip, then ferry her back to EWR for the Sunday pickup. I guess it all depends on their fleet utilization and I think maybe they have "extra" a/c this month as the inter-island usage of a 767s is over (isn't it?) plus the SAN-OGG flight was xld a month ago and the second SEA-HNL flight doesn't start until 11/02.

Must give the scheduling folks some nice projects to work on during the fall and winter!

Yes, seems to be the norm to leave them parked. Don't know how they would handle 2 east coast trips at once, somebody from HA would have to answer that, but it will not happen this year. Twice this season, both teams will fly at the same time but while 1 of them is going east coast, the other is staying west (SFO & PHX), so guess they will ferry in and out to cover the west. The east coast bird will probably stayed parked as usual. Last year, they both had to get to the midwest (MCI and STL) at the same time, but don't remember how they handled it. The Raiders are coming to MSY next week, we'll see what they do with it but my guess is it will stay. The 49ers came in last week and UA used the 763 on a revenue flight to DEN and then brought it back in on another revenue flight from ORD. Nice when you can do that but many of the places that HA carries these teams to has no HA scheduled service, so they must figure better to leave it sit.

Yes, the plane will stay in MSY for the duration (about 42 hours), until the game is over. And for anyone in MSY next weekend, there will be a (ahem) fairly familiar FO working that flight.  Wink

We had a great time there, even if the Raiders didn't do so well. Gotta love the food down there - nothing beats a big plate of seafood jambalaya or crawfish etouffee! I sure wish we had regular flights down to the big easy!

Hey HAL, are you flying to Baltimore in two weeks? Or DC? Or are you even flying 'em? Just curious.
