Continental Airlines Reports September 2008 Operational Performance
Wednesday October 1, 5:33 pm ET
HOUSTON, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL - News) today reported a September consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 76.5 percent, 2.5 points below the September 2007 consolidated load factor, and a mainline load factor of 77.4 percent, 1.8 points below the September 2007 mainline load factor. In addition, the carrier reported a domestic mainline September load factor of 78.5 percent, 2.6 points below the September 2007 domestic mainline load factor, and an international mainline load factor of 76.3 percent, 0.9 points below September 2007.
So it seems that their load factor went down and they have a hard time filling their aircraft, even though it also seems they started to decrease their offer a lot (or is the decreased offer just due to Ike, as I was expecting the service reductions to start only in October?).
