And besides it's American Eagle...not American Airlines. Big difference!

AA tells MQ (and OW and RP and AX) where to fly.

American Eagle served FSD from STL and then ORD for a bit of time after AA took over TWA. I am surprised, given the extensive network of AA, that they couldn't make the ORD-FSD route work.

IIRC, AA served Sioux Falls from ORD with the F-100 from ORD. It was part of the package that got the slot exemption for less than 100 seat aircraft back in the early-med 90's. I believ that AA had the backing of then Sen. Daschle and other politicos to get that exemption.

TWA and then Eagle served it also in the early part of this decade, first from STL, and then from ORD.

Quoting Alphascan (Reply 7): Considering the economics of RJs, I find this rumor highly, highly suspect.
At ~450 miles, ORD-FSD is about as good as you're going to get with a 50-seater. MQ does have some spare capacity from the east coast drawdown; it's about as likely to go to ORD as it is to go anywhere else.

Well, AA has been able to make quite a few midwestern markets work from DFW with a single or double RJ service. From DFW, American Eagle serves:
PIA
BMI
CMI
MLI
DSM
CID
MSN
EVV
FWA
....and several others all with RJ. AA keeps these routes alive and well. I see no reason DFW-FSD wouldnt work, but they would probably do it in conjunction with ORD service too.
