Honestly... the current scheme blows, the tail looks too dark and serious, the lettering is nothing to get excited bout either.
This on the other hand, the new typeface is -much- more attractive, the new eagle might take some getting used to, but, seriously, the new eagle swoosh looks much more like an eagle rather than the old eagle/pyramid/mexicana M tail logo. If JAL got rid of the crane, Mexicana can surely get rid of the old 70s style tail logo, or at least give it a serious makeover as it seems to have done (how many times has the Aztec Warrior on AeroMexico had a facelift since 1970?),
It remains to see how it shall look on the airplanes themselves, so I reserve a final comment until then, but, I like this !

I agree the lettering is really good.
The eagle is so/so.
But what I really don't like is the light blue color. That is not the one of the vivid colors that comes to mind when I think of Mexico. The colors of the flag would have been better.

I rather have them keep the old logo. The new logo doesn't say this is Mexicana at all. The lettering and colors can be changed to whatever they want, but I think the current logo should stay.
