Welcome to A-net Oby.

As it happens, this video was gleefully spread around by Aibus detractors in particular a year or so ago - just before it became apparent to all that the 787 really IS a chinese copy of the A330....  duck   biggrin

PS - you've never been a police officer in Stockbridge, Massachussets, have you?  scratchchin   Smile

Class answer.
My question was a reference to a humourous song/poem called "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie, in which one "Officer Oby" from Stockbridge, Mass. is a central character..
Just a bit of fun

GLAss-REinforced Fibre Metal Laminate, you can check the wikipedia page about this material. It's a composite material used quite extensively on the A380 IIRC

I'm on here quite a bit and I never saw that. That was a great video.

Quoting Oby (Reply 5):

Guess you're racking up some flight time. Never been to Australia but had great times in Denmark, until I got married in Tonder. Ouch! My wife saw me type that.

Quoting Astuteman (Reply 3):

That's messed up, but funny you should mention that because I think the Chinese are trying to come up with their OWN medium to long haul jet. It would make the flying community a bit more interesting. If they can do their own space walk after only 3 manned missions, using their own spacecraft, anything is possible, even landing on the moon.

It is quite old, back when the A350 was a "warmed over A330" and everybody thought it was crap and wouldn't be able to compete with the then ontime 787.
But that now somehow, the idea of a warmed over 777 is great and whatnot for the same people that said the warmed over version of the A330 would be crap. You know, the usual stupidity of Civ-Av when it comes to A vs B.
