Its a shame they didn't keep the original livery instead of this generic colourscheme which is no different from any other airline although perhaps they are trying to keep a low profile at the moment.

As nice as the green was, I think the blue brings the livery into the 21st century. Sure the old USAir, CO, and UA color schemes were beautiful, but they simply needed updating. This does it while retaining the feel of the old scheme.
Great luck with the new airplanes and welcome to a great chance at democracy and a (free) economy.

I think they should have kept the color green, look at the Iraqi flag, its green and white. Not blue. Why is it going to Erbul instead of Baghdad?

Quoting FlyTUITravel (Reply 13): Wow seems like only a short while since they ordered them!!
How long ago did they order it? Is there a backlog of CRJs or can airlines get them faster than A/B aircraft? Just curious. I've read in here not so many kind words regarding the CRJs so I wonder if there's a lot of demand for new builds.
I've flown CR2s and CR7s and they were always quite pleasant (although the low windows on the CR2 make looking out a bit challenging!).

Erbil is safe compared to Baghdad.
Livery is quite a disappointment, they also made another mistake, Iraqi should have been in English near cockpit windows and in Arabic on the other side, that was the whole idea behind this on the previous livery.

True, but if both scripts on the other side are in English, all scripts run from the nose towards the centre, and so it may make some sense nevertheless.

Quoting AsoRock (Reply 20): What has been the total order from Bombardier? I' never expected this order let alone a delivery! Please someone refresh my memory..
In may 2008 a contract worth $398 million was signed for 10 CRJ-900 aircraft with 10 options from the aircraft manufacturer Bombardier.

Quote: Iraq's Government, rather than Iraqi Airways, is formally listed as the customer for the 737s and CRJ900s on order.
"Recent statements from Baghdad have suggested that the orders of aircraft to be flown by Iraqi Airways were made by the Iraqi state to avoid potential liability to Kuwait Airways," says the law firm.
