Which aircraft would you prefer to fly on a five hour flight the Boeing 747-400 or 777-200 on Singapore Airlines.

Although both would have an excellent standard of service - personal TVs etc, I'd instinctively go for the 777 if I had the choice (not, of course, that I have anything against the 744!). Is this a one way trip, or could you go out on one and come back on the other? (What route is it, just as a matter of interest?)

I'd say the 777 just because I haven't been in one yet.

I'd say go for the Triple Seven. But, being a 777 pilot, I think I just might be a little bit biased.

I would have to say 747-400. I just love them.

Whichever one you take, I hope you will be in one of the planes that have been upgraded to the new First/Raffles/Economy class cabin. (2 SQ 744's were painted in the "Tropical" livery since late last Sep to launch the new service). Sorry I don't know which routes the upgraded planes are put on but I suspect they are the ones to LHR, JFK via FRA, EWR via SPL, SFO via SEL and HKG, and LAX via NRT and TPE.

All else being equal, I would choose the 777. On a full flight, the 744 will make you wait longer during boarding, deplaning, immigration, reclaiming baggage, etc. etc.

Enjoy your flight, and thanks for flying SQ!
