Ok, I feel really stupid asking this question considering the number of times I've been through IAH (and even landside for brief periods of time) ... but tomorrow morning will be my first time originating at IAH.
And I just realized. I've never seen the ticketing lobby in "E" nor am I sure how to get to it to drop my bags in the morning. On the inbound flight I think I wound up in "C" baggage claim but... I'm rather confused. Where do I check my bags?
(This is, of course assuming that 1544 IAH-CLE is leaving from E as all of my other recent IAH-CLE / CLE-IAH flights have.

Even though many domestic flights use terminal E gates at IAH, they still want you to check in at terminal C for domestic and terminal E for international. There is a train that connects the terminal C domestic check in with the terminal E gates. Baggage claim for all domestic flights using terminal E gates will always be in terminal C, again connected by the train or you can use the walkways in between.

You can check in at B/C/E (and maybe even A now) for any CO flight regardless of what gate it leaves from.
W/r/t to the E ticketing lobby there's a TSA checkpoint in the middle with BF / elite checkin to the left and general checkin to the right. At the checkin positions they're the electronic kiosks where you can pull up your PNR and add baggage, change your seat, ensure you're on the upgrade list (if an elite), etc.
