Sooooo?

I don't understand the significance of this.

Many countries help many other countries in times of need.

No significance, just letting you know of a rare visit some of us enthusiasts are quite petty and such news delights us, you stick to the stuff you enjoy, I doubt I'd ever comment on one of your posts becasue thats your area of interest and you have freedom of speech and expression.

Infact I'd probably be thanking you for providing whatever information it was.

Sorry, I was seriously asking as to the significance. Since it was a 2004 visit and you were starting a thread on it, I thought I was missing something. Maybe this was kept secret at the time for some sensitive political reasons and is just being made public now.

I understand threads like this when they are posted in a contemporaneous fashion. It is a little unusual for someone to start a thread about an event like this that occurred four years prior.

Its okay, aircraft was chartered by Red Cross and relif supplies collected by them and not sent by Taiwan govt. itself, but could be a cover up as you said, not to offend China.

In 2005 when an earthquake hit Pakistan, a Taiwanese rescuse team was turned back from Bangkok airport as Pakistani authorities didnt allow its embassy to issue them visas.

For the record, CI is a Taiwanese carrier not Chinese.

Eitherway, I remember reading this on their cargo website here a while back. CI has also flown relief flights for other major events as well. Including some into mainland China.
