On my way home tonight on the FlyAway bus I notice there was a CX B744 parked at the Imperial Terminal where Landmark parks it private and charter jets. Any info anyone?

Hehehe, I forgot to mention where, it was at LAX.....

Think it's at the Atlantic Aviation terminal but otherwise correct.

Not sure what it's doing there. Charter flight ?

Are you sure it was a Cathay aircraft? There was a Kingdom Holding 744 parked there yesterday

CX 883 went mechanical on 13 Oct. Flight was cancelled.

Reason: No idea.

She is still there this morning. Parked next to the Kingdom B744. I would doubt they would keep a a/c overthere if it had mechnical problems.

What is it? It's A 747-400, but that's not important right now.

Thanks for the update. Now why is it every time a CX plane goes Tech they always park them there? Why not over at the west pad like everyone else? Who do they have contract to work when they go on MX? I know I saw a LAN B767 the other day at the UA ramp. I believe they contracted UA Services to work on it.

Quoting AznCSA4QF744ER (Reply 6):

LAWA has been known to park airplanes where ever they please. When I worked in L.A. , we had planes that went tech sent to the Imperial Terminal if we were unable to get space from American. Though not common. A 747 blocks a lot of space and if the remote gates are needed, then LAWA sends it where it wants.

Does anyone know what callsign that Kingdom Holding 747 goes by?

Cathay for years has used Mercury Air Group for maintenance who has an FBO and where the 744 was parked.

For the record the Landmark FBO is just east of the Sepulveda tunnel while the Atlantic Aviation/Mercuty Services faclity is west of the Sepulveda tunnel.
