RASM up 10.9% YOY and Q3 fuel expense up $1.1 Billion YOY.

Hell, if they paid last years prices for fuel they'd have made a bundle.

It'll be interesting to see if lower fuel prices this quarter are canceled out by hedges going bad and a slowing world economy. With holidays and many customers already booked for the quarter, I would guess the real impact of the economy will be felt in the quarter after next.

What will be interesting is that capacity will be further cut and yields will increase while fuel costs will continue to drop.

AMR was much more concerned with declining traffic than DL seemed to be during their respective conference calls.

AMR (Arpey, specifically) made a big deal of telling analysts that the financial community remembers who paid them back and who didn't. Not sure what point he was trying to make. The formerly bankrupt airlines seem to have sufficient credit available.

They do, but AFAIK their assets are much more heavily leveraged than AMR's.
