A 747 is a beautiful plane to watch. This overcast late afternoon I observed a 747SP flying downwind for landing north at Dulles. Sort of unusal seeing the SPs, I would think.

I saw this on it's final approach into IAD while I was in Fair Lakes. It caught my eye at
first because it looked so "scrunched" compared to the 744s flying into there all day.
It took only me about 5 seconds to identify it because of the design on the tail. It was nice
to see. Did anyone also notice the AA 762 landing around 5pm? It's nice to see that LAX
flight using the 762 instead of a 738.

A Qatari Sheika is being honored by the Kennedy Shriver foundation so there are a number of middle eastern guests, and their toys in town. There should also have been a QR Amiri flight Global Express in from LHR/LGW.
