Just returned from BWI this morning and noticed a DL 763 sitting on the tarmac between the international terminal and cargo area. FlightAware suggests it's DL9920 which arrived from KBUF last night. I've heard of repositioning and maintainence flights, but this one is a headscratcher! Football charter? MAC? Anyone have any insight?

could it be a charter with Ryan International? Ive seen ryan 767s and 757s lately parking at international pier, sometime last week a DL 763 went to the cargo pad, then was towed to a gate at the international pier, not sure why though. It was parked at the same gate where the usual North American 763 parks.

Quoting 777fan (Reply 3): Yeah, I did some backtracking and (doh) noticed the San Diego point of origin.
9820 is DL's permanent flight number for the Chargers, not sure if 9920 was a coincidence or if there tagging it on to the Chargers flight.
Quoting 777fan (Reply 3): Why it made its way down to BWI is beyond me. It doesn't appear to be going anywhere until at least Sunday afternoon.
DL normally moves the aircraft to a location where they can get it flying again. I'm sure they have plans to use it or they would have left it in BUF. I see that the Ravens are leaving today to go to Miami so they will probably use it for that.
