"At the ceremony of awarding the certificate could take place next week either in Moscow or in Ulyanovsk, where a representative will visit the Chinese delegation to take TU-204-120SE," - he said.

"We hope that obtaining the certificate of airworthiness for EASA TU-204-120SE will be a critical issue in determining the success of the project. EASA certificate of airworthiness of the aircraft Tu-204-120SE - appreciated the enormous work of Russian aviation specialists and managers Tupolev "ZAO Aviastar-SP, enterprises smezhnikov. This is a high evaluation of the Aviation Register of IAC, create a modern system of certification of aeronautical engineering in Russia and the former CIS, would be able to successfully pass the path Certification tupolevskogo aircraft in Europe" - said the source.

The practice of working with foreign airlines shows that the existence of a certificate of conformity of aviation aircraft requirements of the rules of Europe (JAR-25) dramatically simplifies the certification / registration of the aircraft anywhere in the world.

Getting a Type Certificate was the result of years of arduous labor, require professionals Tupolev highest professionalism and expertise. Active participation in the work specialists Interstate Aviation Committee, ZAO Aviastar-SP, developers units and aircraft. It held 102 meetings with experts from EASA, which carefully reviewed many issues on the aircraft, its systems and aggregates, released a large number of additional documentation, performed the necessary flight tests, including those involving pilots certifiers EASA. All this helped to confirm compliance TU-204-120SE European standards.

TU-204-120SE - this is one of the most promising export programs Tupolev. This type of cargo aircraft engines installed firm Rolls-Royce, the engine control system the company Vibrometer (USA), generators firms Sundstrand (USA), Hydraulic pumps firm Vickers (USA), inertial navigation system, the TCAS, EGPWS (early warning system near the land) - Firms Honeywell (USA) and other imported equipment, already certified (to install on a plane) aviation standards in Europe.

Practical Certification cargo modification TU-204-120, aviation regulations JAR-25 was launched in 2001, an aircraft submitted for certification by European aviation regulations JAR-25, assigned an index Tu-204-120SE.

In September 2004, the JAA has been restructured in EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency, the European Aviation Safety Agency). Under the jurisdiction of EASA in all countries - members of the European Union.

TU-204-120SE is currently Type Certificate number ST-233 TU-204-120SE obtained in accordance with procedures established by Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC) under the rules of AP-25, as well as a certificate aviation authorities of China № VTC0185.

The model design of TU-204-120SE, takes into account the demands carefully spent many airlines of different countries, including requirements of airlines of China.

Between 2001 and currently has completed a significant amount of certification work. In fact, Tupolev conducted a series of works not to validate (the process of confirmation in the Russian Federation procedures for certification and specifically the work of specialists EASA only in the amount allocated to their areas (systems / sub-paragraphs airworthiness standards), while full certification standards for aircraft JAR-25.

Certification was carried out on 2 fronts: a group of ART (Group continuing airworthiness, the study of a certification system in Russia, including the certification of production) and validation group (a group studying the aircraft and its systems and conformity assessment standards airworthiness JAR-25) .

Group ART produced a positive conclusion in July 2003 after the general familiarization with the Russian federal aviation laws, rules, requirements, structure and procedures Aviation register the Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC).

Work groups validation (10 teams) includes several stages. General introduction to the design and creation of the Certification Basis JAA completed in October 2001, Advanced Materials for selected areas (flight, strength, design, administration, equipment, etc.) finished in September 2003, the third phase included a review and harmonization of Tupolev methods for determining (MOS) with demonstrated evidentiary documentation and testing aircraft pilot test EASA / JAA. At this stage it held more than 100 various technical conferences professionals Tupolev, AR IAC, professional business-smezhnikov experts EASA / JAA, specialists Tupolev produced more than 10 thousand pages of evidentiary documents, pilot-test EASA / JAA Dan Grif complied 8 flights. This phase was completed in June 2008

Appreciation of Russian technology aviation authorities in Europe, issuing the certificate of airworthiness, is of great importance not only for this particular project, but also for prospects and the actual practice of certification of all other Russian civilian aircraft.

The real value behind this is not as much the sales potential (slim IMO, maybe a few freighters) as the learning experience. The EASA and Russia have learned to work together on ceritfying a plane. Russian planemakers now know what to expect from EASA in the future, and EASA officials have learned to deal with a Russian design. This will ease certification of the Superjet and MS-21 in the future.
