However, their 10:40 am YWG-YYZ is showing "on-time"

THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS FAILURE AT AIR CANADA OPERATIONS
HAS BEEN RESOLVED, ALL FLIGHTS MAY RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATIONS.
Hey Burnsie I just left the YWG terminal not 30 minutes ago and the area infront of the AC check in was wall to wall bodies and luggage, the Domestic security check point queue was longer than I've ever seen in all my time at YWG. Agents in the crowd trying to direct and organize....I thought "Wow AC is busy this morning!"

Quoting EMBQA (Reply 2): They are REQUESTING...... It's just a ground stop. Nothing to get worked up about.
I'm sorry if you feel the title was too dramatic... I'm certainly familiar with what a ground stop is.
I just haven't seen something quite like this for some time, and figured many members would be interested in it. It sounds like things got up and running again without too much trouble--will be interesting to see if there are any other issues as the day goes on.

There were two hour plus delays as a result of this. It has been identified as a Bell Canada problem which effected the system. One guy on 680News has just said he has to wait until 8:30 tonight to get a flight from YYZ to YVR. AC has promised everyone will get to their destination today.

I'm traveling right now (well, actually sitting in the ML lounge at YYC). I had no problems until now, they checked us in manually in YXU (for the YXU-YYZ flight only). Our flight left YXU few minutes late, but arrived early. At YYZ it took five minutes to check in for the rest of my trip. We were some 7 minutes late from the gate, because there were some people who had boarding passes but there were no seats open for them. We arrived to YYC on time again. So for me, no problems so far.

As per the Air Canada website:
Daily Flight Schedule Operational Outlook
If you are affected by flight disruptions and wish to change your travel plans you may
change your flight online or call Air Canada Reservations.

Air Canada's operation was impacted by technical problems for a period of two hours earlier today causing a number of flight delays. All systems have returned to normal but some flights departing later in the day could be delayed due to late arrival of aircraft.
