In between Concourse A and the ramp that takes cars to the arrivals and departures area are a bunch of jetways laying on the ground. Are these old jetways that have yet to be taken away, or new ones waiting to be installed?

Both.....we're in the midst of a major jetway upgrade project. A number of new ones are already up, the rest will replace some existing jetways, or fill in the gaps where there are currently no jetways.

And not a second too early. Some of those jetbridges looked like they were more rust than anything else. This should make MSY look much better.

...why? Anticipating ramp-ups in capacity?

Otherwise, what'd be the point of putting them on, say, the end of B.... no one's used it for years.

Also, since WN's got this strange boner for DEN, and has made it clear that they have no intention of taking over B in its entirety.... any ideas what the airport plans to do with all of those gates?
