YX Service To OMA? (Yes, More About Those ERJs)

Hi, everyone. Recently, I read on the Midwest site that service to Omaha will eventually switch to all-Embraers. But the other day, I saw two 717s at the gates being readied for flights. In the end, what will YX be flying onto OMA?

Quite a change from when OMA was a mini-hub for YX.

With all the cuts YX was making recently, I'm surprised they ended up keeping the OMA-DCA flight. Its a welcomed surprise, of course.  cool

Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

I read several years ago that this was the best performing route in the Midwest system. high if not very high fares and full planes most of the time. Although January and February are not so great...lower fares and only 60-70% full.

The YX 717s have about another week of service into OMA. Starting Nov 1st, you'll see all CRJs (4x) on the OMA-MKE route and 2 ERJ-170s on the DCA route. This is why I made it a point to ride on a XY 717 last week knowing they'd be out of OMA soon. Sad situation it is...

With the reduced seats, do you think this is an excellent time for United to Start OMA-IAD?

There is a lot of demand from OMA to the DC area with Offutt AFB in Omaha and Gallup's campus in Omaha and HQ in DC. Not to mention the usual government traffic for trips to washington.

I think 2xE170's would work really well for United. Especially knowing that DC is loyal Star Alliance city and Omaha is too. Business travelers are VERY loyal to United in OMA.

You make an awfully good case IMO! I could see it happening perhaps on a CR9?
