Thanks EYKD! It's a pity that the project is suffering delays... , but which manufacturer isn't?

A new airline that will be formed (as successor of AiRUnion) announced it will order 30 SSJ's.

The SaM146 engines have a bypass ratio of 4.4 and no rvolutionairy technology, the SFC will be accordingly.

I'm afraid that is good enough now. But not for a new aircraft entering production for the next 20 yrs.

When the Superjet was born, fuel was less important in total trade-offs.

The CSeries, MRJ etc will be a step ahead from day 1.

I think the Russians / Alenia will see soon & re-engine.

It seems a usefull design in a good market segment & room for further improvements / stretches is left.

It will be interesting to see where this goes. It is more or less the first attempt at making an aircraft that can compete in the world market. Should service come up to scratch on earlier aircraft I guess a re-engined aircraft might actually take more than a nominal slice of the non-Eastern bloc market (cheap, passable economics versus CSeries and MRJ). It's the chance for Sukhoi to establish itself as a choice worth consideration. I hope they won't blow it.
