Does anyone know when easyJet will start to take delivery of their new build A320s and where they will be based? I assume the new ones will replace the existing ones at LGW and MAN?

Hi

I assume you mean the ones Easyjet ordered and not the inherited GB order? Jethro's is reporting that delivery starts in '09. bit vague I know.

Have read / heard that MAN is getting some A319s, cant find a link right now though.

There are no suggestions that these will be based in LGW or MAN. A319's can, of course, do most missions so it is not a forgone conclusion. LGW will more than likely see them however aswell as very busy routes across the Continent. Paris-NCE for instance.

A321's will be parked sometime this winter (apparently). The remaining GT fleet (A320's) will all have left the fleet by 2011. The 737's are being withdrawn gradually however the effort to accelerate their disposal hit a stumbling block when it became apparent that returning them to the lessor early would mean high financial penalties.

Apparantly 2 A321's have already been parked with another 2 joining them shortly. Dont know which where etc.

As for the rest of the GB fleet we'll see with the summer schedule release. But note that Jethros has 2 of the A320 a/c missing from the list. G-TTOI/J.

If anyone has any info on manch pls share.

The schedule for mid-February includes just one A321, so I assume they'll just about be gone by then.

Although things can change, the plan is for a third aircraft ready for the Summer schedule.

I thought that NCL was going to be the next base to get the 319's. Is this still the case or will we have to stick with the 737's for a while longer?

I heard that aswell but from a different source. Any increase in aircraft, i would have thought, would come at the change to Summer operations bearing in mind that any extra aircraft are likely to come at the expense of other bases. i.e not from the delivery of a new aircraft. I could be wrong.

You are thinking about the conversion from Boeing to Airbus. By the 3rd week of November, all GB crew will be trained on the 319 and the GB sub fleet will be integrated.
