Emirates gets 2nd late A380, expects 2 more in '08
Dubai airline Emirates said Sunday it remains on schedule to get two more Airbus A380s by the end of the year following the delayed delivery of its second of the double-decker planes.
An Emirates representative, who declined to be named in line with company policy, said Sunday the airline still expects to receive a plane each in November and December. Another of the ‘superjumbo’ planes is expected by the end of March 2009, the representative said.

These are the four 2008 deliveries remaining. (I edited with **** through the 2009 delivery.)
At the end of 2008, the airlines will have (but may not be in service):
SQ: 6
EK: 4
QF: 3
Only thirteen. Hopefully airbus can accelerate production a bit more than the current plan. (I know... won't happen.) While I'm happy my home airport, LAX, sees the QF flights... it would be a little more estabilished service once four or five A380's/day go through the airport. It seems like that won't happen until 2010.
So we'll have fun with new A380 routes through 2009!

I think it will be even more when carriers such as BA/LH/AF will get the A380. I expect that they will start A380 service to LAX. I think that EK will deploy the A380 to LAX to, among with SQ and maybe TG when they get their A380s. LAX will see alot of A380s in the future.

My friend David Barrie keeps me up to date with the A380 production and have just posted an big update about the A380 on my blog. MSN026 has had engine and rudder testing this week. It should be flying by Nov 5th. This is also the first Wave 2 aircraft. MSN033 (AF) and MSN027 (QF) are currently in the hangers and should be coming out soon. Test aircraft MSN004 has had one of its engines removed and is all white now.

The aircraft seems to have left XFW without anybody noticing. I guess this will become more and more the norm as A380 deliveries become normal events. Except for the 1st aircraft delivered to each airline, which will get it's delivery ceremony, don't expect many more announcements or press releases.

As you can see the ramping up will "become apparent" in Q3 and Q2 of 2009. Beginning of 2009 we will even see something like a small break - no deliveries in January and February 2009 (which is human, as all Airbus workers will be laying under the Christmas tree, completly burnt out due to the 2008-deliveries

Thnx. So existing operators expand their fleets, while LH and AF get their first 3 aircraft each and CZ will their first at the end of the yr. Seems a logic planning.
End '09 SQ will have 10 A380s showing off around the world. A deserved reward for the risk they took by agreeing to become launch customer.

155 Art: I have always wondered why different sections of unpainted A380's are of contrasting colours. Any ideas why? I'm sure Airbus don't need colour coding
156 Teme82: Perhaps they are using different batch of primer in the different factories where the blocks are made
157 Art: That would explain it: CATIA V5 primer in France, CATIA V4 primer in Germany.
158 Art: I notice on http://plane.spottingworld.com/A380_production_list that there are no longer any Q1 deliveries scheduled. What is Airbus doing? For exampl
159 MarcoPoloWorld: I had exactly the same thought the other day, so any answers from others to the good questions that you are posing would be greatly appreciated.
160 PPVRA: Can't wait to see something other than EK, SQ and QF. . . LH should be nice.
161 Airvan00: Qantas are expecting their 4th A380 in May and will put it to work from 7th June on two extra LHR flights (QF31) on Thursdays and Sundays and one extr
162 Scouseflyer: From what I understand part of the reason for the gap is that Airbus is winding down the Wave 1 production (planes that needed some or full rewiring)
163 Asiaflyer: Your question is relevant, but in current business climate I dont think airlines are complaining to much to Airbus about it. It might even be a relie
164 AeroplaneFreak: There has been a new update posted on http://www.a380production.com very interesting
165 IliriBDL: Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining Flyglobal.
166 N14AZ: Instead of speculating about the 2009 deliveries I thought it would make sense to summarize the current status in that respect: 7 A380s are in XFW (1
167 MartynS: Thanks for posting this. A few minor comments from items I have seen elsewhere... MSN038 has arrived in TLS ... http://www.pic-upload.de/24.02.09/r7z
168 Zvezda: You're very welcome! Thank you for the graphic. It's a much more usable list than the one at spottingworld. It seems like MSN017 might be ready for d
169 Aircellist: N14AZ (and Zvezda), thanks! This list is great! One small "coquille", as we say in French: I believe MSN20, listed in the delivered planes, should be

185 SpeedyGonzales: Someone on http://www.aviation-community.de/ wrote that 4Yxxxx is ground tests, while testføights are identified as AIBxxxx.
186 Airvan00: Yes, it is a bit hard to follow their logic. On the last first flight, F-WWSG on the 23rd Feb, the aircraft used both AIB045A and 4Y045A on the same
187 AeroplaneFreak: MSN027 made its first flight on March 18 Pictures are on A380 Production http://a380production.blogspot.com/
188 Airvan00: I think the “A” in the flight ID is the important bit for determining if it is a first flight or ground test. AIBxxxA has been used in the past. B
189 Alessandro: " target=_blank>http://a380production.blogspot.com/ Yes, the 26th A380 in the air.

194 Desediez: I do confirm that. There are at least two pictures....
195 LHFADUS: Yes, I can also confirm! Some nice pictures! So far only 2: 1st pic shows the A380 half in and half out of the hangar. 2nd pic shows the A380 outside

197 LHboyatDTW: The pictures are quite small, but it's nice to finally see a new A380 that isn't EK, SQ or QF.
198 AeroplaneFreak: You can see the pictures without registration here from A380 Production http://www.a380production.com

207 KennyK: Looks a bit like an April fools joke, but today is the 2nd, but are 9V-SKG, 9V-SKH for SQ and A6-EDE and A6-EDF for EK all going to get delivered this
208 Scouseflyer: As far as I know this is the case, there was a pause at the bigining of the year and now they're going hell for leather to delivery the remaining Wav
209 MartynS: I think A6-EDF is still at TLS and hasn't even been to XFW yet, so I think EK will only get one this month. They get their next couple in November I
210 PM: They plan to deliver 18 this year but have delivered none in January-March. That leaves 18 over 9 months which means two a month. Deliveries are unli
211 SpeedyGonzales: MSN 027 has finally arrived in Hamburg after several false alerts: http://www.aviation-community.de/for...pic.php?f=16&t=5583&p=54100#p54100
212 Astuteman: Funny, though. Perusing the list in plane spotting world, http://plane.spottingworld.com/A380_production_list I can only find 15 frames for delivery
213 Airvan00: I would be surprised if MSN 7 gets delivered this month. Is it not still in TLS (hanger 2) ? From what I gather it has not made the trip to XFW for o
215 QFFlyer: I can tell you MNS 26 VH-OQD for QF is delayed until end June, & has nothing to do to production issues. This is the first of wave 2 hulls. Cheers
217 Airvan00: Qantas are still saying that they will be commencing the extra A380 flights from the 7th Jun. So they will need MSN 26 by then, unless they plan on d
218 QFFlyer: They won't get MSN 26 in May as planned, the delay currently is 4 weeks, so yes they will have to delay these extra flights. I understand the hull it

226 PM: Korean were (are?) due to receive #35 and #39. Have they been deferred?
227 Airvan00: What about MSN025? It was on convey 4/2008 so it should be ahead of some of those slim chance ones
228 Astuteman: The Plane spotting world list I linked in reply 212 has these listed as Q3 2010 Put that back in the list, and you have the 15 deliveries that plane
229 PM: Hmmm. Yet another site that identifies the Qatar planes as having EA GP7200s and yet no order has been announced. Is this just several people making

231 Scouseflyer: As far as I know - now fusealage sections for a CZ plane have been deliverd so the chances appear to be very very low.
233 AeroplaneFreak: The latest convoy has been MSN051 for Singapore Airlines http://a380production.blogspot.com/ Yes and sorry MSN025 should be in there as a 2009 deliver
