According to Deltanet, ZED fare agreement between DL/UA effective 10/27/08.

This basically gives DL Employees reciprocal ZED fare privileges with almost 50 US and International Carriers.

ZED is a really great program that allows for great Employee travel. Since AA & DL joined up last year I've flown Delta numerous times and everytime has been a really enjoyable experience.

Just one question though....It seems that DL ZED fares are more than say UA or WN. At least for an AA person travelling on UA or WN. Can the airlines set the rates between themseleves?

Yeah it depends on which type of ZED the airline has an agreement with DL.

Like for example we at US have ZED medium with DL, and ZED low with UA. (probably has to do with being in the same alliance)

Also I'll add it here, for CO at the moment it's ZED medium but I suppose once they're in Star Alliance, it'll go down to ZED low ? (hopefully it does)

A few words of advice when traveling on DL....interline ZED fare travel is fairly new to DL and you may encounter some agents who have not been properly trained on how to read a ZED ticket, or up to speed on their interline ZED policies. I personally, have not run into this problem, but I know of people that have and were denied boarding on DL, because the staff in a particular city (which will remain unnamed), refused to take the ticket. It was embarrassing.
