Today I saw a Delta 767 taking off from PVD at 2:15pm...anyone know what it was doing in PVD or where it was headed?

Negative. From the stadium, it is 31 miles to BOS and 35 to PVD. Driving time according to Google Maps is 38min for BOS and 41 for PVD

Not a gigantic difference either way.

International or domestic 763? I'm sure the players would love the BusinessElite seats, though the domestic first class seats likely aren't bad either. And if on domestic, they can watch college football on the way over!

Rush hour maybe, but this was a Saturday and 93 through Boston still slows down often on weekends.

The Pats almost always use Providence for their charters (the last Super Bowl in PHX being a notable exception). The funny thing is that DL no longer has any mainline flights to PVD.

Ive actually never had bad rush hour traffic there, however in all fairness, living in Atlanta, almost every city is better.

I think the fact that 75% of the visiting teams also use PVD emphasizes the convenience.

Is the 767 the biggest commercial plane PVD can handle?

PVD has handled 747s on many occasions

PVD also used to have weekly A330-300 charter service to the Azores with 371 pax (company went bust)
