Counting flights of Iberia, Spanair and Ryanair there will 27 flights in total along a day (13 from Alicante and 14 from Madrid). To counteract Ryanair, both Iberia and Spanair are giving cheaper flights, even Renfe (the Spanish national railway operator) is offering very good discounts in advance tickets.
That´s very good news for Alicante, which is now the sixth airport in Spain by passengers (but we have to wait and see in the next future how thing happens)

add to this route flights starting on November 18 from MAD to SCQ and VLC.
Santiago de Compostela is understable after the miss left by Vueling but Valencia? Some competition on this route operated for IB, JK and with high-speed trains every hour.
