In case you're wondering, it's not a mistake. The tail was painted years ago and will be fixed shortly when the aircraft is painted in Hamburg.

Be interesing to see if QF decide to paint one of its early A380s in a flagship scheme like Wunala Dreaming.

Didn't VH-VQB go into the paint shop at XFW with a white tail? Any speculation?

Qantas have said they will do this to one of their A380s as Nalanji Dreaming is no longer part of their fleet. I think it wont be for at least a year or so.

One of the EK ones went in with a white tail as well. QFs I think were going to have the old tail but when they changed to the new livery they said that they will wait to full paint.

Believe me Qantas have an A380 allocated to have "a" special scheme applied...  Wink
Also adding a spanners to the works, QF being the founder of the OneWorld Alliance I assuming a number of the aircraft in their fleet will sport the OneWorld Alliance scheme...

Slightly off topic,

MSN026 (F-WWSX) for Qantas and the first Wave 2 aircraft has got the Qantas old tail and the new livery on the engines.

What's Wave 2 aircraft mean???

Wave 2 are the ones with the "standard" wiring.

Wave 1 aircraft were "hand wired" because of the problems with the wiring looms

Correct, these fuse sections were delivered without much of the wiring installed which then had to be done in the already mated together empty shells.

From some info posted in the delivery thread, we're looking at 8 more wave one aircraft and then MSN026 will kick-off the wave 2 ones which should start coming through quicker.
