Air Arabia of Sharjah this week announced plans that it would open a second base at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, Morocco.
The new division will be called Air Arabia Maroc and will begin operations out of CMN in 2009. The airline will serve airports throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East and Morocco. Air Arabia has also announced plans to take over Regional Air Lines of Morocco.
Hopefuly it will prove to be more popular than flyyeti.
Apparently Air Arabia is also looking at opening another base in North Africa or the Levant region. (Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Cyprus, and parts of Turkey and Egypt)

Now when they mention Europe that would mean they go up against Royal Air Maroc,Ryanair,Easyjet and Air France mainly?
Main European market in Europe is France for Moroccan airlines.
Any news out already as to the number of planes that will be based in Casa?

Quoting Humberside (Reply 1): Wonder if Air Arabia are interest in Regional Air Lines existing operations, or just the AOC

The following report of GulfNews, just as other such reports, indicate that the domestic operations of Regional Air Lines will be an important part of the new operation. None of the reports however states how many airplanes Air Arabia will base in Casablanca.

The new airline, named "Air Arabia Maroc," will cover Morocco's domestic sector and operate in selected destinations across Europe and Africa.
