Do any airlines like Japan AirLines, All Nippon Airways, Korean Air or Cathay Pacific Airways plan to start Boeing 777-200 service for Pacific routes. Only U.S airlines are flying the 777-200 service over the Pacific. American Airlines and Continental Airlines fly them and United Airlines is planning to put them on flights to Japan from Seattle and other cities that they fly to Japan.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Korean Air uses their 777-200s enroute to Toronto.

TRENT: Sorry to tell you that but you are wrong indeed.... KE does not fly to YYZ. They do operate a 777 on SEL-YVR though.

Hi!!Yes, Korean Air flies their 777-200ER SEL-YVR-YYZ and back. China Southern Airlines flies Guangzhou-Los Angeles and back. Korean Air also flies to HNL off and on with 777s. I think maybe Singapore Airlines may fly to YVR and SFO when they start to replace A340s with 777s eventually. All Nippon may also fly 777-200s to the USA when they get their ERs later this year. United will start 777-200ER on 31 Oct SEA-NRT-BKK. The777Man

I think both Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines fly the 747-400 to Vancouver. Cathay flies YVR-JFK as well.

At one point in 1998 KE flew 777 into either SFO or LAX to complement their 744 service.

To further add to "The777man" post KE flies their 777 into YYZ 5 times a week now and will decrease that to 4 next month and 3 in the winter. In the summer they fly non-stop SEL-YYZ and on the return fly YYZ-ANC-SEL, not throught YVR. They have been using the 777 for little under a year now.

I beleive Malaysia Airlines also flies B777-200IGW nonstop from Kuala Lumpur to Seattle. The IGW version has a range of over 7000NM and it has 180 min ETOPS certification. Now that the ETOPS limit is going to be extended to 207 minutes for transpacific flights, I wouldn't be surprised to see more 777's from both US and Asian airlines on flights across the Pacific Ocean.

Malaysia Airways does not fly to Seattle. MH flies to Newark and Los Angeles in the USA only. The EWR service is a 777, but makes a stop in Dubai en route to KUL.

I believe when Malaysia received their first B772ER, the aircraft broke the previous non-stop long distance record by any airliner on its delivery flight to Kuala Lumpur. I don't think that they would fly the aircraft non-stop on this route in regular service. 'Well, ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain; we have about 2500miles left to Seattle and we are out of fuel; sorry!!!'
