p.s the weird part is I just mailed the airlines MD today requesting him to choose one of the two schemes or opt for a complete new look as the multiple styles being sported by PKs aircraft gave the company a bad image, glad thats been decided now

What I would have really liked to see would have been the green tail with flower motif and the green underside . I was not to happy with the present scheme and I think that they are making a good decision to just go back to the original scheme.

Finally an airline has the guts to turn back a poor scheme. They combined now the best of two. Hurray for PIA's board; a victorie for Pakistan. Come on SwissWings and others, let do it too! What about South African and Qantas? They should look much better with a colour on their fuselages, they have such amazing good evergeen taildesigns.

I for one am really happy that they've reverted to the colourful previous scheme, though its not the best but much better than the pseudo sophisticated "Blanco" livery, wonder if the 747-300s will get to wear it since their lease expires next month and they may be returned to Cathay Pacific, the floral design was good but only on the white fuselage scheme I dont think it would suit the previous livery, would make it too busy looking and thats not good as far as design is concerned, I wouldve preferred the floral tail on a grey belly like in Swissairs livery or a polished belly, but for me the best livery design for PIA would involve lots of Green like the whole upper fuselage Aer Lingus style, the floral design would've looked great on that, well glad to know that colours are back for PIA
p.s want to mention here that i wrote the letter to the MD with no knowledge of this bit of news.

According to me, I believe that their 1990s livery is much better since it makes PIA somewhat standout in a crowd. Sure, the new livery is beautiful but still, it was like all other airlines. I believe, which is impossible, they should go back to their 1980s livery. Oooh Yeaah.

The 70's livery you mean, it was introduced in the mid 70's and carried till 1991 as the aircraft were being repainted in the green belly scheme, was OK for its time but definitely outdated now, sadly the Green belly livery also looks very 1980s, even though its just 10 years old, I think they should opt for a complete new look after the proposed privatisation in 2002, by the way I just saw a freshly painted 747-200 in the reverted(Green belly)scheme fly over head and it looked beautiful

I believe that their scheme is not better than their old ones. PIA is doing the right thing...at least to make it more noticable in a huge crowd.
And as for the privitization part, I believe that Govt. would keep it...one of their source to make revenue when PIA earns profit.
They should replace their 737s with their current A310s, A330s with A300s.
