Incredible for Air France.........they have painted one A320 in the old DC3 cs , to commemorate their 75th birthday.

It has been painted at Toulouse , and was expected to be at CDG this weekend , but due to AF pilots strike , will not come before next week.

Do not know the registration.

Well, we know AF's inability to keep a clean airplane isn't a new found tradition and dates back to the beginning.

Spot primer, but it does rather look like moss, doesn't it?  Silly

I agree it's quite excessive. A fine livery nonetheless!

No way! Nothing says "retro" like an enormous reg #! Looks great! Nice job AF, this might be my second favorite European retro livery after Finnair's.

That's a very nice change from the trendsetters of the "eurowhite" plague.

A pity it's a one off thing. I truly hope they get inspired to give us something better one day.

It looks really nice IMHO. I only hope KL will do something like this with their upcoming 90th b-day. I was hoping for a nice retro livery for their 85th b-day, but alas...

Quite simply, this retro livery is brilliant!

It really suits the lines of the A320.

I think it really captures the 'art of flying'.

Quite a few A320-family planes in retro schemes - someone should suggest that airlines AF, IB, AY get their retro planes all together. And BA should do a retro BEA scheme on one of their A320's too. Maybe a BOAC paintjob on a new 77W while they're at it!

I´m not too enthusiastic. The result is so-so. The battleship grey underside and engines don´t go too well with the rest. They should have painted it silver like LHs retrojet.

Looks very odd, but remember AF had such gigantic registrations on its planes in the 50s.

27 Visityyj : Agreed. For those not old enough to remember, they appear to have used AF Version 2 blue on an AF Version 1 design. It should be much darker.
28 ER757 : Agreed...would love it if they'd paint the rest of their fleet like this. Can you imagine an A380 in this livery?
29 LH4116 : Awww, not again! Another airline folowing the trend to paint an A320 aircraft in retro colours. IMHO retro colours are nice looking on classic airline
30 Visityyj : Air Canada I think.
31 NA : Well, that is hardly possibloe, as those old airliners do not exist anymore or can´t be used within the normal operation schedule, which is the sens
32 LH4116 : The 747 isn't AF's flagship. The 77W is, and soon the A380 will tkae over that position. The 77W offers a much better product than the 744 and beside

34 Visityyj : I may be wrong (and someone will certainly tell me !) but I don't think any AF747 carried the "hippocampus" livery, just the simple blue tail flash.
35 Post contains links and images Ikramerica : Somebody left the cheese out. I disagree. Granted I think some look better than others on new jets, but it's still nice to have some variety compared
36 Post contains links and images FlySSC : You are right. The only AF jetliner to receive this livery was the D.H Comet in August 1953. You can see it on the "remains" of this one : View Large
37 RICARIZA : BEAUTIFUL!! Just beautiful!! Congrats AF
38 NA : Absolutely wrong. The 744 is still AFs biggest aircraft, the 77W just the dirty longhaul workhorse underneath the coming flagship A380. Also the 77W
39 PlaneHunter : The A320 looks nice - and I really can't complain about the size of its registration. Who cares about size? There's no other aircraft available which
40 DUALRATED : Awesome paint scheme, one of the best retro looks yet! A little goofy, but if thats the way it was?
41 Viscount724 : Fully agree. The 10-abreast Y class configuration on a 747 is also much better than the cramped 10-abreast AF seating on their 77Ws.
42 Argonaut : Since they are part of the same company, no doubt KLM will. Good idea. But there's one big problem against it, from BA's point of view: the airline i
