Just curious as to if any of you flew out or into JFK yesterday or perhaps were listening to the tower or ground control. I did a double shift yesterday 0400-2100 and the airport was a mess all day long. They were taking off on 22R and landing on 22R and 22L all day and night for what I saw from working at T-5. We all know JFK can turn into a parking lot during the evening but yesterday was unreal with the amount of a/c out there. Thanks

Low visibility and weather over a lot of departure fixes. Thats what kills JFK. Planes will begin to divert and and 31R will turn into a parking lot. Tipical weather day. Glad I work in the AM so after 1400 its somebody elses problem.

I don't think it was just weather, either. I saw two large motorcades on the Van Wyck that evening, one coming from JFK and one going to JFK. The one coming from was presidential in size and the SUV's had Maryland plates. The one going to was a little smaller.
Bush was speaking at the UN around that time, and there may have been other visiting dignitaries flying in and out of JFK.
So there may have been some delays due to that as well.
