Two of the three Domodedovo Il-96 are in the back with engines removed. There are some photos of them flying from 6 months ago. Anyone know why all of a sudden they are wfu?

Hi Sovietjet.
I believe that Domodedovo Airlines has temporarily suspended operations after the demise of the AiRunion alliance. In fact, I think all members of the alliance have stopped operating for the time being. The Russian government is going to reconstitute the airlines sometime in the near future.

I wonder what there are going to do with all "recent" russian aircrafts of grounded Russian airlines as Domodedovo Il-96, Krass Air Tu-204/214 and Dalavia Tu-214......
I think there is a second hand market in Iran, Syria......

The Cuban ones are 2 crew cockpit and avionics in english. so I don't think that they are good candidates for this birds.

The Saha Air 707s in Iran are relatively young and IIRC they have not clocked more than 10000 hrs of flying. They are ex-air force tankers and very well maintained by the reputable Iranian mx staff.

Perhaps Mahan cud make use of those IL96s and try to restart suspended EU operations.
