Dear fellow A.net members,

I have been wondering if anyone can share any additional information regarding the A332F. When should we expect to see the first frame be assembled? When should expect to see first flight?

Would anyone happen to know which MSN number will be atributed to the first A332F?

It seems that very little information has regarding the A332F program has been released to the public, which make me wonder if we might see a delay to the program.

Regards,
Wings

Is this the aircraft that Airbus proposed assembling alongside the A330-based tankers in MOB at BFM? Perhaps they are holding an announcement till they get a feel for what the next administration will do in regards to the tanker project. Given a win of the tanker bid, they will build the freighters in MOB. Outside of a tanker win, the chance is there, but not nearly as substantial.

Correct  checkmark . Although this would only happen until the assembly line was up and running. Until then any A332F order would have to be assembled in Toulouse along side the A330/A340 line.

No. Airbus currently have 74 firm A332F's on order with another 7 pending to be firmed up. Airbus does not have the luxury to wait for the US government to make up their minds regarding the tanker contest.

What I am expecting is to see Airbus and Leasing Companies swap some A332F slots in favor of the A332/A333 PAX, and further down the line take up those A332F's.

The place that converted piles of A300 is EFW in Germany.

The place planned was Mobile. I agree it's a bit silence around the A332F afterthe succesull launch. Usually not a good sign..

I also have to agee Keesje. Would be nice to see a confirmation from Airbus about the progress and challenges with the A332F program.

Thanks for the very interesting link Overcast.  Smile

I noticed that MSN 1004/1032/1051/1062/1090 are all destined for Flyington.  Smile Should we expect to see some of these frames involved in test certification?

The World Cargo Forum was held in Kuala Lumpur from where this comment can be cited:
"Early 2010, will see the aircraft manufacturer moving into new build freighters with the A330-200F."

Agree, and with the stronger USD, a factory in MOB is not that favorable from cost perspective any more.

I have not seen any update on Flyington as well. Not much on their website.
http://flyington.com/index.html

Recently the owners of Flyington (Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd (DCHL)) were having some financial problem and were planning to spin-off their sports business. Meanwhile DCHL are the franchise owners of "Deccan Chargers" . For those who are not interested in cricket, Deccan Chargers is a team in the Indian Premier League.

I will be very happy to see those birds at my home airport HYD.

Look at this:

Seems odd that GE will not offer an engine on the 330F, so I was simply wondering if this is still the case.
