I work out of T-5 at JFK and was working gate 3 which is right across from IAT T-4 so I had an amazing view of it coming in and then later on I went back out to my gate and saw them towing it to one of the hard stands. Anyway, I know there has been so much talk for years now on here but I finally got to see it in person. I can't believe how quite it is. Wing span is unreal as well as the tail. Man I'd love to push that thing out. Anyway, I just wanted to share and I hope I get to see more in different liveries. Pictures don't do it any justice, you gotta see it in person.

I suppose this is the Emirates 380 you are talking about.
This bird is supposed to do a flyover the QE2 when she comes into Dubai harbour on the 25th (that's if pirates have not seized her when she goes by Djibouti and the Somali coast on her way to Dubai).
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

We got to see her here in YVR a couple of times on trial flights over the past couple of years ago. I have some fantastic photos with her on stand opposite A343's, 767's & 77E's and another one with her on parallel taxiway with a WS 73G landing in front - that really gives you an idea of her size. I would post them, but they are not mine and dont know who took them, so dont want to run into copywrite issues...
As you say, most impressive thing is the quietness - puts the 77W to shame.

I was fortunate to see it (Singapore airlines) rotating at LHR while sitting in the plane waiting for take-off. What a size!!!! I was also surprised to see how slowly she elevated into the skies. ..not too sure I would like to be sitting in there during take-off though.

That reminds of a scene I saw when I flew out of LHR this summer. Off the top of my head, the parking order was something like the SQ A380, then a EK B77W and then a SK Maddog. The poor Maddog looked like a toy plane

I saw it for the first time last Saturday, taking off from Dubai (so guess which airline that was!).
Certainly a spectacular sight and it kind of seemed strange to me, in the sense that I have read about it, seen pictures, ideos on Youtube, read articles etc etc and it only dawned on me a few minutes after I'd seen it .... "hang on, that's the first time I've actually seen it "live"!!

Okay, this might be pretty far fetched and I'm sure I'll get killed on saying this but how about a A380 cargo plane. An upper and lower deck just for cargo. I'm thinking it would way to heavy but man, think about all the cargo it could hold.

Last week I saw it for the first time at Nartia. SQ's. It was fun to see it in action. As they pushed back and rotated, its fuselage made it look awfully tall and skinny. Very different from the standard tube on the crowd of big twins out there.

Are there any chances of an A380 coming to YYZ? I would love to see one and take some photographs but would have to go to JFK, NY (the closest A380 airport at present, I think). Does anyone have a possible airline that would be flying A380 and coming to Toronto?
Thx.
Life only makes sense when you look at it backwards.

I thought it had already been offered and FedEx and UPS were to get some, but one vacked out then the other cancelled so it was dropprd.

Because of the delay of the passenger version Airbus stopped to work on the freighter version that is why it was cancelled.
Fedex and UPS are still interested in it.
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

Thats right, I forgot about Fedex and UPS but now that I think about it, thats a hell of a lot of cargo for one plane. That is going to be a sight to see them loading and unloading that beast.

When the promo plane was in MSP, they parked it next to a YX CRJ Now, THAT was a funny combination.

Even though I get to see it every day here in TLS, I still find it impressive. Despite the many superb photos you can find here on a.net, the A380 is still something you need to go see for yourself. It is also worth hearing - or rather, not hearing - to realize how amazingly quiet it is. It really makes many smaller planes look bad in that aspect.
