Quoting TristarSteve (Reply 2): BA 780 went to NYO for fuel, and has now landed at ARN.
Interesting. well that flight will for sure be heavily delayed
Quoting TristarSteve (Reply 2): BA782 will nightstop as it arrives to late to return to LHR before the LHR NJB.
Well it has been on hold for a good while now, and it is still on hold right now.

Quoting EBGARN (Reply 4): It looks like BA782 is diverting to... OSL?
I doubt so, but it wont land at ARN because it is heading away from ARN at FL240

Its a nightmare right now and not only in Sweden. HEL has been heavily hit and all flights from and to TLL have been canceled. Many flights were diverted and there was only 2 departures today (lucky bastards). I was siting at ARN from noon today and there were supposed to be 3 flights from ARN to TLL today. All were canceled
Next try will be tomorrow morning at 8:40 but the weather forecast is not promising at all

Quoting TristarSteve (Reply 8): It is going to OSL to refuel. At the moment it is expected back at ARN after midnight!
Wow, but why all the way to OSL, there are airports nearer where they can refuel??

It might be that the wheather is bad at the other Stockholm airports too, or that the captain wants to go back to an airport where BA is flying to.
That may definately be a reason, but since BA780 (and probably a few others) re-fueled at NYO, it might be that they are running out of fuel. I guess they don't have truckloads of it on stand-by.

Okay, I see. Thank you guys.
Well the flight is scheduled to land at ARN around 23:30 again according to BA.com

BA782 is currently heading back to ARN from OSL.
I wonder how many flights BA will have tomorrow morning from ARN??
In the early afternoon only one runway out of three was open at HEL.
It seems the most unlucky was the AB flight from DUS, they were already in the Finnish airspace but they had to turn back to DUS.

The problems seem to continue at ARN.
BA780 has been on hold for a long time, but is now heading away from ARN at 30,000ft. A few cancelled flights but a lot of delays.

Okay according to BA.com, BA780 (LHR-ARN) is currently heading to CPH to refuel and then back to ARN.
I wonder why BA didnt take enough with fuel this time, they could have loaded the 767 as the probably knew about the problems at ARN??

Quoting LH4116 (Reply 17): How comes that the flight was diverted to GOT? Aren't there any airports closer to ARN that weren't affected by the weather?
Maybe the other Stockholm airports didnt have the right equipment??
Seems that BA780 wont land at all at ARN today, it seems that it is heading back to LHR!?!

Not really. We use NYO as nbr 1 fuel alternate, then GOT OSL CPH and HEL. The only other one is Jonkoping, but its not much further to GOT which has all the facilities. Go anywhere else, and the crew are on their own.

Quoting AlanUK (Reply 20): What weather caused all this? Fog? Winds?
This corner of Europe was hit by a big blizzard. The combination of snow and strong winds was too much even for the northern airports like ARN and HEL.
